Welcome to Brownell and Kvamsing Lakes Fly – In Fishing Camps

Peaceful tranquility, clear blue waters and bountiful catches of Northern Pike and Walleye await you at our three cabins on Brownell Lake, or our single outpost cabin on Kvamsing Lake.

For decades these camps have offered guests the comforts of a northern lodge with the benefits of a relaxing break from civilization and being alone.  After a short flight you’ll find comfortable cabins with screened in decks overlooking tranquil blue water.  Our camps offer hot shower facilities and outdoor flush toilets. To improve your fishing experience you will find a filleting shack, fridge, freezer, and of course well equipped fishing boats. 

Building on the legacy of Ted Ohlsen, along with being a “self-serve” camp we offer an optional guiding service.  Our experienced and friendly guide is available to show you the local secret fishing holes, filet your fish and create a shore lunch for you to enjoy during your fishing experience. 

These beautiful lakes surrounded by nature are also a photographer’s paradise. Local nesting eagles, moose and the iconic loon are only a few of the animals regularly seen in the area.  Your cabins are surrounded by nature’s beauty.  A short boat ride from the cabins provides a photographic safari difficult to equal.  

Fly fisherman love the large northern pike filled bays to test their strength against a big “gator” or drop a fly into the flowing waters in front of the Brownell camp for a golden walleye!
